4 3 2 1.
We have lift.
Vehicle is pitching down range.
[Applause]
Booster chamber pressure nominal.
[Music]
All right, we're a little over 40
seconds into flight. 33
power and telemetry nominal.
>> Getting good call outs. Healthy systems
on the booster as it starts to pitch
over over the Gulf.
>> Well, it never fails to impress these
images. That is the site of Starship
successfully clearing the pad on its
10th test flight. That rocket has twice
the thrust of the Saturn 5 rocket that
took astronauts to the moon back in the
late 60s and early 70s. And uh the
picture of it taking off there, you can
see all 33 Raptor engines uh lit. So
everything appears to be normal at the
moment. But there were a few setbacks on
the last uh three test flights which all
ended in failure as Averil mentioned. Uh
the flights before that did show some
very promising progress, however, uh
with the giant booster being caught by
the launch pad, those uh giant
mechanical arms known as the chopsticks.
We're not going to see that today. The
plan today is to run a series of tests
on the booster after that separates and
that will splash down in the ocean. And
then the intention is that the upper
section will continue for a partial
orbit. Uh we'll be deploying some dummy
satellites through what's known as the
Pez dispenser door. Um and then another
number of tests will be uh conducted as
well before that section two splashes
down in the ocean. rifle.
